If you do not want to solder, you can get mini prog. It is good and gets lot of updates. It has a large database.

I like it. It saves time. I used it to read a Peugeot 307. I used wires that I soldered to the dots in this photo. Then I found the pincode through EFfi software.

it's very similar to prog, but it's more a quick no hassle chip reader you can just whip out and use.
